Recent Photo Shoot

Just shot with a new client. A very amazing hairstylist. MEET. She’s been styling for I believe 15 years now. I went to Mahogany Brown, hair salon on West McNichols where she worked to shoot her models. The most awesome thing, she said she hasn’t been advertising for a minute which is unlike her and she needed some new work. She has been very faithful to her photographer (working with the same guy since the ’90′s) but wanted to see “something different” I was given a shot at what she needed and delivered!! I’ll post picks up very soon in suddenutopia.com’s gallery.

Detroit Pride Festival!

June 5, 2011 2 comments

Earlier today, I headed down to Detroit’s Pride Festival at Hart Plaza to pass out Detroit Love stickers. It was pretty cool. I helped a buddy of mine with his Capoeira display. I would have stayed longer but the sun kicked me out. lol It was like 1000 degrees. But to the point. I have been working my tail off to perfect my photographic technique. I want to provide industry standard high fashion work for all of my clients. The first thing I learned about business is to be professional. You’ll never know who you’ll run into.

As I was passing out stickers, I saw a popular Detroit model. She was out and about with her friend. I wanted to arrange a shoot and was actually going to PAY her. So the first thing I do is approach her with a sticker and say “Here you go, share the love.” Her attitude was so off putting, I was completely shocked. Your attitude can close opportunities before they are open to you. So please, be nice to everybody, one of those strangers may be a potential job.

Great Week!

I’m glad to say that this week has come to and end and was FANTASTIC! First off, I had the opportunity to work with Mahogany Mignon. She is a visionary and is awesome! We are collaborating on a HUGE project for SUMAG that won’t have any competition! Issue three will be a special edition. You’ll be able to check more of that out on www.suddenutopia.com very soon.

Also, I finally had a chance to have a conversation with Detroit’s very own Stephen FUZZYTEK Boyle! www.fuzzytek.com and Ulysses Newkirk, creative director at RED DOOR DIGITAL!! These guys are the greatest! Talk about being on the same wavelength. It was one of the rare times that someone could complete my sentences. I knew I was doing something out here.

I’ll be attending Maiden Detroit at Marilyn’s on Monroe this Sunday networking with Fuzzytek.

AND….

Stay tuned because Sudden Utopia will be holding a casting call at Red Door Digital very soon!! More updates to come soon!!!
